Jig-Saw
evolved from a group, set up in 1991, by the
Isle of Wight Psychology department. The
group was made up of twelve women, from
different backgrounds that all had one thing
In common, they had all been sexually abused
as children. After twelve weeks the group
ended and a few members decided to keep in
touch with each other over coffee.
The idea was to form a group on the Isle of
Wight that could reach out by helping and
supporting other survivors who had also
experienced abuse in childhood, and who were
either in a situation where they needed
support through difficult therapy or who had
never been able to share their emotions with
others. |
